APFC Control Panel

In the present technological revolution, power is precious and power systems are becoming increasingly complex. To minimise transmission losses over long distances, it is vital to identify causes of power loss and improve efficiency. Heavy use of inductive loads lowers the power factor, increasing losses and reducing system efficiency.

What is Power Factor?

Power factor is defined as the ratio of real power (kW) to apparent power (kVA). It measures how effectively current is converted into useful work. A power factor of 1.0 is ideal — a lower power factor (e.g., 0.5) leads to higher losses, increased energy costs, and reduced system capacity.

The APFC (Automatic Power Factor Correction) Control Panel automatically manages capacitor banks to maintain an optimum power factor, reducing energy penalties and improving overall system efficiency.
